Guest lynne893 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 I was checkin' out Timber's toes last night and discovered that two of them were stuck together by some kind of sticky dried material. We live in the city, so it might be gum (?!?!?!), tar, or xmas tree sap (lots of trees out by the curb for trash pickup). We got them unstuck and used a warm compress to loosen some of the rest of the icky sticky material - and DH got out an adhesive dissolving chemical and I yelled at him for it ( )- but Timber grew tired of us messing around with her feet and we haven't been able to get the rest of the gunk off. Will it just wear away gradually? Anyone else have an experience like this? Quote
Batmom Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Mmmmm, if you leave it she might be inclined to chew at it and make her footsie sore. Try glopping on a good amount of vegetable oil (corn, olive, whatever you have) -- not so it drips and makes big spots on your rug, but enough to moisten it well. Leave it a couple minutes. Then you should be able to peel some off. Might have to repeat the treatment a couple times. Good luck! Guest lynne893 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 EXCELLENT suggestion!! thank you! (so far, she's left it totally alone, phew, and it's weird too because two of her toes were literally stuck together-- you'd think she would've limped or something, but typical grey- she's non-chalant!)
