Guest Tenderhearts
We are at the very end of the pred, one every other day. She's walking that same funny walk, can't get comfortable, cried out, same look in her eyes. Off to the vet's first thing tomorrow.

Guest Tenderhearts
I went ahead and called the vet tonight. She's going to put her on the higher dose of pred again (Amber will pick that up in the morning), and the vet is also going to send home some tramadol for pain management because she's walking around like a stiff little old lady. She'll just have to stay on the higher dose, and once Amber gets the vet bill paid off from the last hospitalization, then all the testing starts. Guest EmilyAnne
Has it been cold in Kansas? Hopefully it's just the cold causing aches and pains to act up and she will feel better as it warms up?
Guest Tenderhearts
Has it been cold in Kansas? Hopefully it's just the cold causing aches and pains to act up and she will feel better as it warms up? Quite the opposite actually. More like 20 degrees above normal the last two days, and continuing in that mode all week long. She's resting a bit more comfortably since she got the pred earlier. She did feel well enough to get up on the sofa and beg from me earlier when Amber got home from work and brought me a salad. Now she's sleeping under my desk. She'll get another pred in the morning. Guest KyGrey
Does she take pred every day? Lee takes one pred every other day along with his Robaxin but he has LS. Poor baby!!
Guest Tenderhearts
After just two doses of pred, yesterday evening and early this morning (20 mg per dose), she's bouncing around like a kangaroo. I guess we don't need the tramadol anymore. DaisyDoodle
Did you have a chance to talk to the vet today? Please ask him to explain about the long-term use of pred. It needs to be done every other day so it doesn't cause iatrogenic Cushings.
