The first thing you'll have to deal with is the complete amazement/admiration from everyone, including your vets, as very few folks apparently ever get the pleasure of meeting a greyhound puppy (is that a whippet? Is that a???? What IS that???) Even my vet, who is a greyhound specialist and has several of her own, had never seen one so young. She drew standing room crowds at the vets - docs and techs would leave their other clients to come and see her. Spicy had to "endure" endless attention and affection from everyone she met. Other than that, she was simply a puppy and with all the boundless energy that entails. She'll need a lot more excercise/play time/cuddle time than you may be used to with other greys. She will be more bonded to you and overtly affectionate than many retired racers (not all of course). As she grows, you may find it difficult to find other puppies that are big enough to play with her. Spicy's favorite play companion turned out to be a little wheaten terrier puppy. They absolutely adore each other but as they started out at 10 and 25 lbs respectively and now are at 20 and 70lb respectively, they need to be supervised simply because of the size/weight difference. My pups biggest disappointment is that she can no longer be carried around in my arms or fit in my lap (although she tries, she tries...!) Enjoy! Brandi let me know how many you are bringing back and i will start trying to find homes for them ( good homes). if you cant get rid of them all we are moving in feb and may be able to foster.... ( dont tell adam i will break it too him slowly he will loose it).... it all depends on Vegas and his health at that time. I might be picking up 9 now.....
