Guest Slate Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hi Everyone- I joined this community because I would love to adopt a greyt someday! I would love for that to be sooner rather than later so I am always looking to find out more information and knowledge and get to know others who have greyts. Right now my barrier to having a Greyt is my work schedule mainly. I work nights (and sometimes 12 hr shifts) and so I would not have anyone to come and let my friend outside to go to the bathroom. FountainLady Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Welcome from Michigan! You'll find everything you need to know here ... we are a talkative bunch. Until you can get a hound of your own, why not consider volunteering with your local Greyhound rescue group and get your "fix" that way! Groups are always in dire need of volunteers and you could do so much to help Greyhounds find their forever homes at the same time. Do have to warn you - they wrap their way around your heart! Guest StormChaser Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hi Slate, Welcome. We adopted our retired from the local organization here in Rochester, Greyhound Adoption of Greater Rochester. FountianLady had a good suggestion, volunteer. Contact GAGR and see what volunteer activities are available. That way you can help the hounds and get spend time with them. When the time is right for you to adopt you will be experienced and ready to help a retired raced adjust to the good life with you. Quote
