Guest Ingear Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I just noticed that Georgia is limping and her front foot has a swollen pinky toe. It dosent look broken, I am hoping that she just sprained it. We are going to monitor it for the rest of the day and see how it goes. If it looks the same tomorrow we will take her to the vet. My question is can we give her dog tylonal? If so how much? Thanks Quote
CaliforniaGreys Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 (edited) What will help is soaking it in Epsom Salt. If you're going to give her anything, I would use Ascriptin Edited November 23, 2008 by cbudshome Quote Missing my little Misty who took a huge piece of my heart with her on 5/2/09, and Ekko, on 6/28/12 For the sick, the lost, and the homeless
Guest TheDoggfather Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Use baby aspirin if anything. Those "pinky" toes are non-weight bearing toes, so when she walks, if she's using the foot, it shouldn't hurt her much, if at all. Quote
Guest lynne893 Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 We're going through the same thing right now-- Timber developed a new limp in her back left leg and after a gentle examination, I discovered the cause must be her outermost toe on that back left foot. It's swollen and she pulls away when I touch it- even softly. The vet agreed and put her on antibiotics and told me to give her 325 mg (twice a day if needed) of Ascriptin (a buffered aspirin). She's doing a little better now on day 2 of the meds. He said give it a week, and if she's still limping, come back in for an xray or BIOPSY (gulp). I just hope she gets better soon.... she's 9.
