Guest p51crazyhorse
Streamer was giving me his typical morning nuzzles and loving this morning and I noticed a reddish tinge on his nose. It was all along the line near where the black leathery part becomes hairy. I took a wet QTip and rubbed along there and it was blood. looking closer I noticed he had two tiny pinprick sized cracks, I know my hands are a cracked dry itchy mess especially with working with fleece all day.... I have never seen a dog get a chapped nose but Streamer seems to really dislike the cold. Is this something I can put chapstick on? I also have some "udder cream" that is more like a barrier cream... It might be harder to lick off.... suggestions? could it be anything else?
Guest SoulsMom
Bag Balm works wonders. Cleared up Soul's ICU rash in a day and a half. I also use it when his nose gets crusty/bloody from a Lupus episode Edited November 19, 2008 by SoulsMom
Guest p51crazyhorse
I am so worried about Lupus.. I thought my Schnauzer had it when he had this weird thing on his nose where all the hair pulled out and it oozed puss and blood... it just went away with some antibiotics. After the vet told me about lupus I have been worried ever since....

And DL is not really a scary disease, there are far worse things they could have. Just gotta watch the nails and nose mostly . . . . . CaliforniaGreys
Udder cream or Bag Balm is a good idea.
