Guest EnzaFerrari
I started Enza on a bland diet last night as her output had softened up. When I took her for a walk around 6 - it was more or less back to normal. Then at 7, I fed her an egg and at her 10 walk - white, foamy diarrhea. My jaw fell as she's never had that and I think is clearly connected to the egg I gave her. At 3 this morning, she woke me up again and had the same thing. At her 6AM walk, a lot LESS Diarhea and it was more...thicker than water and was brown. I fed her a little - and I mean a little - chicken and rice as she was trying to eat everything on our walk. She picked out the chicken and left most of the rice and whined for more. She was also chipper on the walk and while her gums were pale at 3AM, back to pink this morning. I am planning on calling our vet when they open this morning, but since I am sure it is connected with the egg - how long is normal for food that did not agree with her to move out of the system? (Also, thank god the doggie walker starts today!)
tbhounds
Might not have been the egg as she was already starting to have diarrhea before the egg. I would withhold food until you speak to your veterinarian.

I would withhold food until you speak to your veterinarian. Part of why I think it's the egg is that after one meal on the bland Before Egg, her stool had harden a great deal. After the egg, and right before she had a major bout of the Big D, she had been pacing, whining, stretching both ways, and panting hard. Had me TERRIFIED she was bloating and so I was almost relieved when she had the Big D a few times. But yeah 0 calling the vet this morning. Guest Greensleeves
Food doesn't move through the system that quickly (I think I learned in health class that in a human it takes at least 24 hours to completely digest and pass something you've eaten), HOWEVER, the act of eating stimulates the system (which is why you send puppies out to potty after a meal). I have IBS, and eggs are a trigger--I can see a reaction in as little as 10-15 minutes after eating something problematic... or things can build up and take days to react to. It just varies.
