fsugrad
About 10 days ago I posted that Toby was having trouble keeping his food down. He was throwing it all up, sometimes within 1 minute of eating. We took him to the vet, they did all kinds of tests. No blockage. All came back normal. http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...635&hl=toby They gave me canned I/D food (bland diet) to keep him on for several days. I did that. He didn't throw up. Then they told me to switch him from the canned I/D to the I/D kibble, and he's started throwing up again. Last night I gave him a milk bone and within 30 seconds of eating it, up it came, in about 3 pieces. He's going back to the vet tomorrow. I wonder what is wrong with him?? CaliforniaGreys
Prayers for your Toby. For the life of me I can't remember what it's called, but Chance's mom went through this with Chance. Guest SoulsMom
Did they do an ultrasound to look for the blockage? And the blood tests were all normal? Sending good thoughts to you both
Guest ChancesMom
Have you tried mixing the canned I/D with the dry to see if he will keep that down? Chance has a sensitive stomach, never throwing up but has had HGE (hemoraggic gastroenteritis) 2 times since he came to live with me this past January. This causes bloody diarrhea and needs to be treated immediately. I had him on the canned I/d along with a dry kibble for sensitive stomachs. I have since switched him to the dry food that he was on when he was still at the track as Jenn and Cathie both said that he had no issues when there. He has done great since. I don't guess you really needed all of the above but I do know that sometimes you just have to try different foods until you find one that will work. I sure hope that Toby is able to eat and keep it down soon. Also, I very rarely give Chance any treats any more as the vet said they could trigger another episode. Have you tried boiled chicken with rice? That should be easy on his stomach. Good luck to you.
