My dog started DES and is on her third week. Her incontinence is under control but she has stopped eating. Is the loss of appetite related to DES?

My Pearl was on DES for a while. But she was also on 6 other meds for her heart and hypertension. She's always been a little finicky, but I didn't notice it worsening while on DES.

I was able to take her off eventually and no incontinence.

But I'd ask the vet if that's a side effect.

The vet has her taking 3 mg. Isn't that too much?

How often is she taking the 3mg. Brooke was on DES for several years. My vet had her take it every day for 5 days to start, and then she took it once every 4 days and eventually she didn't need it at all. Brooke NEVER lost her appetite.

We started at every day and went to every 3 days. Each pill is 1mg and we gave her 3 pills at each treatment.

she's getting 3 mg every 3 days? that seems really high. Rainey's been on it for about 3 years, did the 1 pill a day for a week, then tried 1 mg (1 pill) once a week but she still had issues so we do 1mg (1 pill) every 5 days. NO lack of appetite (but she's a total food hound, not sure how yours is normally?).

I would contact the vet asap, something doesn't sound right with the dose at all.
