Guest Bethf03
Has anyone had a grey that had bone cancer in the skull or a tumor there, we just took Sexton (9 yr old male) to our vet who is referring us to a bone specialist. He has a big lump on his forhead and along side of his neck, he has lost tremendous weight, (he still eats good tho). Since were pretty sure that its cancer I guess were basically going to find out how long he has. "Vets are astromically high!!" as bad as going to the dr..... Tallgreydogmom
I have dealt with a tumor on the side of the face. It was not good. Have you looked at taking him to Angel Care Cancer Clinic-Anmls - Kathy Mitchener DVM 6923 Stage Road, Memphis, TN 38133 www.angelcarecca.org I met Dr Mitchener at an event last week-end. She is an ongologist and knows Dr Couto up at Ohio State. I would think she would be willing to consult with OSU, Dr Couto and the Greyhound Health and Wellness Program. She did not know that retired racers could receive free chemo drug from that program. Please keep posting so you have enough posts soon that you can PM. I believe you need 50 posts to be able to PM. I am located up the road in Ripley TN. Sending white light and prayer for you and Sexton. Edited October 18, 2008 by Tallgreydogmom Quote Then God sent the Greyhound to live among man and remember. Hi Beth, I see you have Unique, she came from MSGAO in W. Memphis/Southland. I'm so sorry you're going through this with Sexton. I would do as your vet said, check with a specialist if you're doctor isn't sure what it is. You're not that far from Memphis, if you'd like I can give you my vet's name & phone number, he's in Bartlett. and what Cora said also (tallgreydogmom) You can email me or Cora, heehoo46@hotmail.com & I can pass your email to Cora. TheFullHouse
I'm so sorry. We just lost Emmy to a brain tumor. Although hers wasn't in the bone. She lost enormous amounts of weight and went blind and finally started having seizures. Her's was located at the base of the skull in the back which is why she lost her sight. My question would be is it in the bone or behind the bone? We adopted Emmy from MSGAO also, several years ago.
