Guest kick
Any experiences with something similiar? Seems to have a diarreah cycle going on...2 days okay then big D is back. Normally pumpkin does the trick for us but I'm noticing that the first part of the poo is firm with diarreah (sometimes watery) following. What's odd is that she is very happy and full of energy, great appetite. We took her to the vets and got the scoop on dosage for tagament and pepto. That was going on 2.5 weeks ago. Next the vet wants to perform a scope. My grey is pushing 10 and he's an awesome vet. I'm feeding her Chicken Soup kibble agumented with rice, boiled chicken, pumpkin and her vitiams. It's troublesome as we were heading in the right direction for the past 2 days now it's back. I took a poo sample in to the vet tonight and we checked her weight - 80 lbs so no change there. I just want this girl to be healthy and happy (and live forever )
KingsMom
Unfortunately I don't have any experience but I wish you well if figuring it out. I'm sure others here with more experience than me will chime in. Guest Winterwish
It's possible the pumpkin is is casuing the diarrhea at this point. Have you been giving it for more then a couple of days? Pumpkin can help stop diarrhea, yes, but too much,or too often in an attempt to stop the runs, could end up continuing it.
Guest Winterwish
The sample is very important, definitely at least that before having a scope done. She may need a run of a medication, like flagyl for ex.,for an intestinal bug. Only thru' the sample could you find that out,so that's great you brought that in. I hope your pup is feeling better soon!
