fsugrad
OK, so a couple of weeks ago, I came to the realization that K9 Advantix was not working AT ALL for ticks on Toby. He had no fleas, but was covered in ticks. I should add this is the worst tick year I have ever seen and I've lived in Florida all of my life. So on the advice of GT'ers and our vet, I switched him to Frontline Plus. Well, there has been an improvement in that there are less ticks on Toby, but he still has ticks on him! The worst are when they get in between his toes and inside his ears. Some of the ticks that are inside his ears are hard to get out, even with tweezers. It is scary because of course he doesn't like the tweezers in his ears, but we've got to get them out of there! He was dosed with Frontline Plus about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Is there anything else that I can safely put on him or give him in addition to Frontline Plus to ward off the ticks? Guest SoulsMom
I use the Preventic collar and have never had to pull a tick off of Soul (and we live in tick country!) But, you can't use it if you have cats in the house. Edited October 15, 2008 by SoulsMom
Guest LynnM
Preventic Collar and Frontline Spray applied to the ears, armpits and feet. Also, I use Permectrin II or similar spray (diluted according to directions.... more is NOT better when it comes to mixing insecticides!!!) for the house and outside.
