Well, Buddy went for his recheck today; it's been two weeks since he first was seen for a scratch on his eye.

Despite diligent efforts on my part, it is no better. In fact, maybe a bit worse, according to the vet. :(

He really seemed to be on the mend after the first week; I did not miss a single dose of drops/ointment. Then, over the weekend, he seemed to get a bit worse.

So on Monday we will visit the veterinary ophthamologist. Again. First time was five years ago, for the same thing. Even the same eye.

Darn.

Sending prayers, love and light for your precious Buddy for a quick healing of his eye. Poor guy. I've had scratches on my own eye and I know how painful they are. Sun light especially. Stay strong and heal quickly tender heart!

Sending healing prayers. My grandgrey Chancie Pants had a scratch and it took a little over 2 months to completely heal. They ended up having to change the meds for her to heal. :grouphug

My mix, Lucky, had an eye problem last year and the vet put in a medicated contact lens. He said it would protect the eye and aid healing.

UPDATE: the appointment has been moved up to TODAY at noon! Hopefully my big ol' boy will be feeling better SOON....although I doubt he will enjoy his appointment. :(

Glad to hear he'll be seen by a specialist today. My Sissy had what we initially thought was a corneal scratch, turned out to be a much more serious condition. If I'd not gone to the specialist (on my own, cuz I didn't trust my vet at the time), she could have lost her vision. Good luck at the appt today. :)
