Guest Althea Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 So after having our big brindle boy for almost a year (and seeing all the happy multi-grey households on Greytalk!) DH and I decided we might need to chip. We just couldn't resist when we heard that 16 month-old Viola needed a home. Here are some pics: Silas supervising this post! Viola on the night we brought her home. Silas the day after we brought Miss Viola home... does he look happy or what? Silas had been fostered for several weeks by a great family before we brought him home, and they did all the hard stuff vis a vis housetraining and the like. Viola is my first experience with a houndie straight from the track, so I'll be posting over in Training and Behavior to ask for a few tips. Thanks for looking! Quote
Guest houndstooth4 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 They're both gorgeous! It sounds to me like Viola isn't straight off the track so much as straight from the farm if she's that young. It's more like getting a puppy than anything else at that age. It'll work out! Quote
Guest lionessgrace Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 from sunny California! Wonderful houndies!!! Quote
Guest Althea Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 She really does act like a puppy — I think that explains most of her behavior (and small bladder size ) Your hounds are just beautiful! I love Lilac's ears in your siggie... Quote
Patclara Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 So glad you joined us here. Pretty pups and I'll be looking forward to your journey esp. with baby Viola. I miss having two or more Greyhounds. We have a little old Whippet girl (Joey Levine) and our darling Greyhound, Anna. That's it for now anyhow. I know how much pleasure they can bring. WELCOME from Southern California. Quote
Guest Morgaynn Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) Purty houndies! You'll have to fill us in on the adventures of yer Landshark and her counterpart.. Silas looks pretty smug. I bet she's a mischievous one isnt she? Edited October 11, 2008 by Morgaynn Quote

silverfish Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Silas reminds me of Renie! That's her preferred position - upside down on the sofa, grinning. I'm glad he and Viola are happy together! It's nice having two, isn't it? Quote The plural of anecdote is not dataBrambleberry Greyhounds My Etsy Shop
PattyE Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Welcome!!! Your pups are gorgeous! Quote Patty, Mom to Jaxson 5/12/2017 Forever in my heart: Joey 11/01/2007 to 12/06/2018, Scout 11/19/2005 to 07/15/15 and Jack 01/03/2004 to 06/11/2011
Guest Althea Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Silverfish — I adore your siggie pics and quote. Renie's face markings are so distinctive. Also, DH and I have started to quote you, especially while listening to our presidential debates: "the plural of anecdote is not data." And Patty, your brindlies are just gorgeous. Is Scout a blue or is that just a trick of the light? Quote
