LadyBailey
I picked Bailey up today...poor thing was so groggy she could hardly stand...one of the few times I have seen her actually sit. And she didn't want anything to eat...what happened to my little hoover Well, good news is the X-rays were clear...bad news is she's still limping. I'm going to try a chiro consult/tx next. I keep thinking what if they missed something like they did on Carrier. Unfortunately, our vet doesn't have electronic x-rays so i can't forward them on. But I'm very relieved she came out of the anaesthesia OK. The vet thinks it's a soft tissue injury of some kind and we're keeping her on the anti-inflammatories for another week. I want her healthy because we'll be away on vacation for almost 3 weeks and we usually do a lot of walking. btw, I was up in the middle of the night and DH asked me what I was doing...I told him i was doing what I do best...worrying. He said OK and went back to sleep Apparently I worry too much...betcha never would have guessed that Thanks for your warm wishes, support and prayers...it really means a lot to me. Good to hear that the xrays were clear.. however, I would still get a second opinion after she is done the anti-inflammatories if she is still limping. Our first vet told us that the xrays were clear for Carrier.... later we found out that they actually weren't. There were signs of lysis of the bone, but she didn't put two and two together. It was pointed out to me when the second opinion vet saw the original xrays. Since we thought the xrays were clean, we went ahead with Anti-inflammatory drugs and also adjustments. In the end we lost about 1.5 months until he was finally diagnosed when we got a second opinion... and the worst part was that the vet was adjusting his shoulder, where he had the cancer!!!!! The pain for him was unreal. I would recommend two options. One, keep her quiet for the week and continue with anti-inflammatories, if she is still limping, get a second opinion from another vet... one that is able/willing to send her xrays to OSU for additional review if they still aren't sure and if Bailey is still limping prominently. The other thing I would recommend is going to see a certified chiropractor -that graduated from this program. Vet Chiro I don't know if our first vet is your current vet... pm me and I can give you scoop on our experience. I hope and pray she is better soon and able to enjoy her vacation. Ditto to what Eva has said. The same thing happened with my girl, Cricket. When she had her initial set of x-rays they too were clear. I started taking her to a chiropracter along with anti-inflammatories......poor girl would scream every time he tried adjusting her back leg. After her 3rd treatment and she wasn't getting any better I took her to a specialist to have an MRI done. When the Oncologist looked at her I could see the concern in his face. He recommended another set of x-rays being that 4-6 weeks had passed just to see if there was a difference. There was....the x-rays showed a tumor in her lower hip. I still feel so terrible for putting my baby girl thru that. I would never do anything to hurt her. I'd wait a bit first to see if her limp starts to improve. And, yes, if you do decide to take her to a chiropracter make sure he/she is certified. Good luck with your sweet girl. Guest tcornwel
Glad to hear the xrays are clear. Let us know how she makes out this week. I forget if you have Bailey on joint supplement - could she be feeling sore from arthritis?
Guest paulamariez
Prayers, love and light coming for the quick healing of your gorgeous girl Bailey. Thanks for the wonderful pictures! I always think that it actually helps me to send prayers for the houndies when I have their image in my mind. Bailey is just a beautiful girl! These pups are like our children, so of course it's natural to worry about them and their health. I am the same way about my boys. It's never anything simple in my mind, always the worst. Then when it turns out to be something minor, it's the best news!

I forget if you have Bailey on joint supplement - could she be feeling sore from arthritis? The vet said she did have some arthritis in her elbow but he didn't think it be the cause of her limping. Good news though...no limp today. I am going to start her on glucosomine too. Quote Jan with precious pups Emmy (Stormin J Flag) and Simon (Nitro Si) and Abbey Field. greytpups
Bailey's appears to have stopped limping...and she is ready to run. I'm hoping it was a soft tissue injury and the anti-inflammatories have helped it heal. I've been trying to keep her quiet but my little girlekins really wants to go for a run...for those who know her, you know how much she loves to run and we haven't been to NCR for a couple of weeks...maybe on the weekend if she continues to improve. And yes...I have stopped worrying...both vets viewed her X-rays and both concluded they were clear. Thank you once again for your well wishes...I think limping is every grey's owner's worst nightmare. We just hate to seem them in pain. Guest SoulsMom
Good news! When Soul had an injury like this the vet told me to keep him from running for two weeks to prevent re-injury. Believe me, Soul was KNOT happy about that!
Guest jackjack
Just saw this now. Our boy Jack is chronically limpy. When we first adopted him, we were constantly worried and had him at the vet often. Nothing ever showed up on x-ray, but his limping continued. For quite some time, we thought the problem was with his feet. He has evidence of several broken toes, and is sensitive on certain surfaces. We tried glucosamine, but that didn't help. Early this year, his limping really took a turn for the worse. It got to the point where we couldn't walk him. Eventually, the vet x-rayed his ENTIRE body. Like Bailey, the x-rays were clear. What did show up was a potential problem with his spine. The vet hooked us up with an equine chiropractor who makes house calls. When she first stopped by, I was skeptical that it would make any difference. She was very gentle with Jack, and she made it look like she was giving him a massage. What a difference a few sessions made! He's a completely different dog! He even tries to engage in play with our other two greys. My only regret is that it took so long to take attention away from his feet/limbs and focus on his back. He was in chronic pain much longer than he needed to be. Best of luck with Bailey. We're BIG fans of chiropractic care and accupuncture.
