Kare Bear has stood at the foot of the bed for three nights now wanting to go outside around 3am. The first night I dismissed it because Ike was blowing through and none of us got any sleep that night with the winds. The second night I assumed it was because she figured out what it took to get us up and out whenever she wanted. Yesterday I got home from work and her crate mats were damp.....so very unlike our girlie!

Called the vet, took in a sample in, and yep....UTI. She's on antibiotics for several days now and is more than looking forward to twice a day peanut butter!

A lady from the vets office said this is a very common time of the year for UTI's. They do not know why, but it just is. Some are more susceptible than others. Some will just have this one, some will get them yearly between now and October. She has a grey that gets them religiously every October. At 9AM we were the third call in today for a UTI in a grey.

Wonder what's in the environment about now that would make this occur? Kare Bear is our third grey since 1997 and this is out first ever UTI incident.

That's interesting, I have never heard that before. One of my girls can very easily get them but it sure has nothing to do with the time of year. I'm interested in what others think
