Guest MomofCash
Cash sleeps with us and this morning when she stood up in bed she yelped a bit. Then when she jumped down off the bed she yelped again. She stood there for a little while with her right front paw up in the air but then started walking on it. I put her out to do her business, brought her back in to eat and the tail was a-waggin'. Do you think it just scared her ? Do their legs fall asleep just like ours do? I guess I'm just paranoid with her at almost 10. I felt her shoulder and all down her leg and she didn't say a peep when doing so. It's okay to tell me I'm being paraoid ... Ragsysmum
Yes I'm sure they do. I have had this with as couple of mine but they were quickly back to normal with no lasting effects. I usually just rub/massage around the area that seems to be affected and try to get them to walk around a bit as you might yourself if you got cramp. Guest winli02
Yup. when we first got Dilly, he used to sleep with his paw kinda bent under his head when he slept. Same thing---he would wake up and not walk on the leg, whining and limping. After rubbing it, he would be fine. Whenever I would see him sleeping "funny", I would try to move his paw. MandysMom
Mandy does the same thing periodically, except she doesn't yelp, she does the GSOD. She often sleeps in a pretzel position. I talked to the acupuncturist, who told me she most likely gets into a position that pinches a nerve a bit, then it suddenly hurts, so she reacts like a drama queen. I usually get her to walk a couple of steps, rub her down gently and then she is okay. Quote Beverly. greysmom
Ours do the same thing. It could also be that she's beginning to have some arthritis issues in the joints in that leg. Getting up in the morning is hard for me so I'm sure it would be hard for them at times as well. greysmom Quote Chris - Mom to: Felicity (DeLand), and Andi (Braska Pandora) siggy by Chris Harper, on Flickr Angels: Libby (Everlast), Dorie (Dog Gone Holly), Dude (TNJ VooDoo), Copper (Kid's Copper), Cash (GSI Payncash), Toni (LPH Cry Baby), Whiskey (KT's Phys Ed), Atom, Lilly
