Limping Greyhound

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine posted this on another board and wanted me to post it here. She cannot get on this board due to her e-mail addy and she is a navy wife. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please help her.

Eclipse is limping. He's been having problems on and off for about a month now. I took him in for xrays and they said it was not arthritis and to leash walk him for 2 weeks. He does run around the house some when he first comes out of his crate. Could he have re injured it? We had a tropical storm blow through the last couple of days and Eclipse was acting very uncomfortable, grunting a lot, trying to get situated. He cries if he lays down on the sore leg. The dog said it is the shoulder. I thought it was the paw because he keeps it off the ground. So I guess putting any weight on it at all hurts it... Suggestions please if anyone has any knowledge about what could be wrong!

Thank you,

Michelle in Jax

Eclipse is Her Majesty Queen Softee's nephew and half brother to Penkse and EZ

If the vet she has taken him to cannot give a diagnosis I would seek a second opinion. Also make sure the xrays are seen by a radiologist specialist or an oncologist.

Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Beagle angels Peanut and Charlie. And to all the 4 legged Bridge souls who have touched my heart, thank you. When a greyhound looks into you eyes it seems they touch your very soul.

Since she's in Jax, please contact Kathy Lambert and GIJen and get some info for her about vets in that area. They can give you/her a good sense of whether her vet is grey savvy. Kathy, Jen and Chris or one of Kathy's other trainers might also be able to lay hands on the pup, and give her an idea if it's a running injury.

Wish her luck for us.
