Guest sheila Posted June 17, 2008 Share Posted June 17, 2008 (edited) Kiowa was helped to the bridge this morning. He was a tough old bird. Came to me after a rough start from an abusive former home. Full of scars but with a heart of gold. Not much of a racer as he thought small furry things were for cuddling with. He survived several dog fights, an emergency tracheotomy after an allergic reaction, toe amputation, seizures, heart disease and kept on keeping on until his body just couldn't do it anymore. It has been a month since I had to let my beautiful boy go and even though I am still so sad and miss him terribly, I know I did the right thing. He has sent me a couple of little signs to let me know that he is okay. Even our little cat, is grieving and missing him. She runs to the door whenever we come home, looking for him.
