Guest myjazzy
I have heard EMT gel mentioned in this forum many times, but I don't think I've ever figured out what it is. My sweet girl Gem got her tail caught in the van door and got a serious case of "happy tail". It seems to be doing ok and then she breaks it open again and we have the blood, etc, and we have to start all over again. I was reading several threads on happy tail and am going to go to the store to get the hair curlers, etc., but I have no idea what EMT gel is. Is it like Granulex or is it used with Granulex. The Granulex seemed to be working until I took her to the vet and the vet bandaged the tail and told me to keep the bandage on for several days. The bandage didn't come off, but she still managed to whack her tail, so I had to take it off and I'm having a terrible time with the tail. Of course she tries to lick it and I have her muzzle on with tape in front so she won't lick. I have a poop guard somewhere, but of course, now that I need it I can't find it. In my 11 years of owning greyhounds, this it the first time I've had to deal with the dreaded "happy tail".
Guest toni
I bought some at the local tractor supply where you find the equine ointments. I put some on a scrape on Condo and it was great. I think I was told its cologen or something. ITs clear and sticky but I love it!

Guest myjazzy
Thanks! There's a Bass Pro shop near where I live, but I'll probably get it faster if I order it from Gem Greyhounds.
