Yesterday while waking up from her spay, Silk was taken away from us, she is our first dog to ever die making it all the more difficult as our group is only 2 years old. When I walked into work (at the vets) one of the guys I work with sat me down and told me. The vets fought for her life for 30 minutes longer than they'd ever fought before, but she wouldn't come back. The tech she died on had never had a dog die in 11 and a half years under his watch and he feels terrible, I told him god had other plans, but he said she never had a chance to feel love.So while we all mourn our loss, especially the vet on call, who was so very upset and still is, can you say a little prayer for Silk, just so she can feel the compassion of a human soul, as she waits for her rescuer at the bridge.

Oh my gosh....I am so sorry. :cry1 We never expect to lose our prescious babies when they go to the vet's for routine care and surgery. I'm sure the vet and tech feel you pain with their own. Hugs to you all for your loss.

So very sad... run free sweet Silk!

We need to act responsibly toward the plants and animals with whom we share the world, who have no voice, but whose presence make our world a blessed place.

How very sad for all. :weep I'm sorry that Silk never had a chance to know the joys of retirement in a home. God speed little girl. Much love being sent your way to the Bridge.

That's so sad! I'm very sorry for the people who tried so hard to save her, and for you and all the members of your group. I'll have my angel Ivey seek her out at the Bridge to make her feel very welcome.

How heartbreaking! So sorry. I always would get nervous with Millie going under, especially because of the anesthesia thing. When we switched vets, I had to make sure she knew what she was doing. A stark reminder that surgery--even common surgery--has its risks.

My sincerest condolences. Run free, Silkie.

So very sad; and tragic that she was so young. Sending prayers and love; though she never got to her forever home, she ought to know she won't be forgotten.
