Guest 2greygirls Posted April 29, 2008 Share Posted April 29, 2008 I can't believe I am typing this. I helped my grand old lady actoss the Bridge this morning. She had lost most of the use of her back legs...she told me it was time. I cooked her a dinner last night and we all had cheesecake, her favorite. She spent the evening in my lap and arms. She was very peaceful. I cannot believe my girl is gone. Leda was my first greyhound, and as many of you know, moonlighted as the Queen of the Universe. She changed my life dramtically, bringing me into the hound community. She was the most beautiful greyhound I have ever seen, with the softest bunny like coat. I am numb. I am exhuasted, I am heartbroken, but there is an underlying peace. My girls are together again. I am sure they are charging at each other leaping into the air like jousters as they pass, like they used to..I'm sure Leda is chasing balls, and Marble is stealing them when Leda drops them. There are too many memories to even begin to list. I will have to do a proper tribute the the "Ladies" when I am more myself. Stretch is sad, he loved his old lady too. I just can't believe she is gone. Oh my sweet sweet girl, momma loves you so much..you are safe now, no more wobbly legs, no more belly ache. I miss you so much, but I know you are with me, and your sister.... You changed my life so much, you touched everyone you met. I will hold you close forever. run free. I have to stop typing....
