Not A Greyhound, But Remembering My Mom

There are so many things I could say about my Mom. How she was such a wonderful, giving person and loved by so many. How she couldn’t quite see her own beauty the way we all did. How we shared our birthdays. How she was my best friend. But nothing could sum up her life (and death) quite like this poem by Robert Frost:

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold

Her hardest hue to hold

Her early leaf’s a flower

But only so an hour

Then leaf subsides to leaf

So Eden sank to grief

So dawn goes down today

Nothing gold can stay

Gone far too soon, I still miss you every single day. And oh how I wish you could have met Soul.

There's no one like your Mom. The universe changed forever for me when I lost mine.

I miss my mom...I will see something on tv that I know she'd want to see & I'll start to call her...

When I lost Pegasus I wanted to call her...and she would've been just as devastated as I am when Dear died in January....

My mom had breast ca at 36 years old, I was 9. She lived through that and was then killed in a car accident 23 years later. Not a trace of CA in her body.

Go figure.
