My Foster, Trixie, 9 YO female was playing outside. When she came in, there was blood on the floor. Did a once over and found she had a piece of her pad gone on her back foot. It is about the size of a pencil eraser. I cleaned it, put EMT Gel on it and then wrapped it in Vet wrap. Anything I am missing??? Doesn't seen to hurt her, but she seems like the stoic type.

Sounds like you did the right thing-In addition, she may need oral antibiotics...Since the foot/toes/pads come into contact with bacteria/dirt/water easily..I would just watch her and see how it looks...I would only keep it wrapped until the bleeding is under control though..you want it to breathe...:)

Thanks! She happens to be on antibiotics right now for gingivitis. So that helps!!

Once you unwrap it, might want to slip a baby sock on when she goes outside -- will protect it a bit from rough ground.
