Oh Noooooooooooooo. I usually deal with Osteo. Email Dr Couto at OSU. Someone can give you his email online here. He will be a Sandy Paws in GA this week-end.

I'm sorry. I have no experience with this type of cancer. I did find this blog about it. This is only one case, so take it with a grain of salt.

I am so sorry to read this about Loca. Where is is? Are her lungs clear?

For personal reasons I have had to do some research on bone tumors. Here is a site with Chondrosarcoma as a link you can click, BUT it is Mayo Clinic and it is for people. It may give you some insight.

Here are two links for pets. Sorry I don't do "clicky." There are limb saving techniques that can be used in some cases.

I'm so very sorry to read about sweet Loca. My very first grey had Chondrosarcoma on his head. He got it just a few months after his 7th birthday and left us for the bridge about ten months later. One of the things our vet told us was that this type of cancer is often less aggressive than other types. It turned out to be true for us because Max had 9 and 1/2 wonderful months with us after his initial diagnosis.

We had many options available to try and extend a happy life for Max including a de-bulking surgery to try and reduce the size of the tumor and chemo. Because Max was such a daddy's boy and hated the vet or to be left in a crate, we chose only palliative meds for him. In retrospect it was the absolute right thing for him. His time after diagnosis was happy and nearly pain free up until about a week before we new his time with us was getting very short.

I'm sure you will make the right decision for Loca and your family and that you will cherish the rest of the time you have with sweet Loca, hopefully a very long time.
