Guest Maddison
Is this common for girlies to have a discharge? We randomly find this white spot on our couch that is from the dog. It's not us, it smells musty. It's totally gross. I read the boys drip thread a while back, so do girlies do it too?
Xan
Wabi and Happy both have some discharge occasionally. Wabi's is strongly fishy (EW!!!) while Happy's is more interesting to the other dogs than to me (I notice them noticing rather than noticing it myself). We kicked Wabi off the couch and had to wash a blanket 'cause of her fish-tookus the other night. Guest ArtysPeople
To all the people who posted in my "ping pong balls on his manly parts" or in the original "olives on his hoo-hoo" thread saying they were soooo glad they didn't have boy houndies, I just have to say: ewwwwwwwww! I'll take lipstick and olives over dripy "fish-tookus" any day!
Guest charmsmom
When humans have fishy-smelling white discharge, it's usually a yeast infection. Musty odor may be anal glands.
Guest Ola
The smelly odor can be anal glands (it really does smell bad) - a visit to the vet should tell you either way.
Guest StriderDog
Fish odor is usually anal glands - Daza has the occasional case of fish-tukus as well. Vet says her butt juice is more watery and sometimes leaking happens.
Guest greyvettech
Def sounds like an anal gland problem..the anal glands could be infected too..you should take her to the vet have them expressed, and if any blood is seen, they are infected..simple antibiotics can clear it up though....If that is her problem, you can add non-flavored metamucil to her food daily and she will express her own anal glands normally when she has a bowel movement..hope I could help...
