Uhhhhh!!! Bia kiddo probably has another UTI. We did all her medication and she was on hills c/d for 3 weeks. Today (about 2 weeks after finishing clavamox) I was taking out her sheets from her crate and they were wet (must have been from yesterday). Then, when I took them for a walk this evening she peed 6 times!!! About a half hour ago she urinated on the carpet.

So I'll be taking a urine sample to the vet tomorrow or Friday to check it out again. Obviously the 2 weeks of clavamox did not work out the first time. Is there a different antibiotic she should be on?

I have recently started feeding raw, and really hope I dont have to put her back on the prescription food. If this is recommended would it be okay to feed her half raw/half kibble for awhile?

What can I do, short of antibiotics and prescription food to help heal her infection and prevent these infections?

I've bought cranberry pills and have read using distilled water can help.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Did they culture the urine last time? If not, do it this time. That'll enable you to see just what bacteria is in there and therefore what antibiotic will work best for it.

c/d is for struvite crystals/stones. If she doesn't have those, there's no reason to feed it.

I gave my terrier 1 teaspoon of concentrated cranberry juice during and after the antibiotic and she has never had a uti return. I have never discontinued the cranberry juice.
