We finally have a new addition to our family! her name is Adora(racing name ADORE) and she's 4 yrs old and weighs approx 60lbs! she has not been too happy about my cat yet. a lot of barking and growling on both sides  Anyhow my kids are in love and my husband is over the moon and I'm tired

What was funny was on the drive to the kennel my husband was already talking about adding a 2nd!! :lol that didn't take long and if this one boy they had had not been spoken for as of this morning we might have had 2 :unsure what can I say? we're crazy :colgate

Her background is interesting too! her Sire's Dad was HB COMMANDER! I'm going to try and see if I can find out more about her and if she has any racing history

Here's a pic of me and Adora at the kennel

Congrats!! She is a beauty. Keep that muzzle one until she gets used to the cat :)

You can go here greyhound data to find out more about her. Just type in her racing name in the upper right hand corner and click search. It will tell you about her races. I already peeked! :P

:yay Thanks for the link!! I looked through it and from what I can understand she won about 8 races! I know she broke her leg at some point that's why(I think?) she's no longer racing but it's nice to see she had been a shining star at some point! course I would love her no less if she had been a racing dropout :hehe

:whisper now if anyone can answer for me...what does it mean the star next to the names like her parents and some of her other ancestors?

Oh and she's currently "roaching" in her crate!!! how exciting! I feel like a new mom all over again

Roaching in the crate is a good start. I don't know of a roach taking place if a dog doesn't feel safe/comfortable. So, that's a good sign.

As to the cat, I'd recommend getting really good advice about Adora on that one. Cat intros and training needs to be done just right. Some are afraid of cats. Some are disinterested altogether. Some are trainable/workable. Our female had a HUGE prey drive. We've worked her to the point of living with a chihuahua that is white now. No problems. So, even those that don't seem workable can be at times. Just get a lot of help early on and do this one part really right. ;)

Can't wait to see more pics. . .and read stories. . .and see the pics of your next one. . .

Hey, thanks! I've been wondering about the asterisks too!
