Guest greytmonty
Monty is having his round cell tumor removed tomorrow, as it has grown in the last few weeks. The derm vet is fairly sure it is benign, but they need to remove it and then do the pathology testing. If it is malignant then we will have caught it early I hope. My vet will also look at his teeth and see if he needs a dental. I am worried about the anesthesia, as Monty seems to have every side effect possible with each med he has gotten. I asked my vet a lot of questions and she is experienced with greys, but they do not monitor temperature as a matter of routine. Please send Monty your good thoughts. thank you. I don't think it means its benign, but I think of it as a basil cell skin growth in us vs. a melanoma. Meaning that once they remove it and get clean margins they are cured of the cancer. It's also one of the most common canine cancers in dogs and if caught early, the best prognosis.
