Guest GreysAndMoreGreys Posted October 22, 2007 Share Posted October 22, 2007 I often wonder if the dark cloud of cancer has attached itself to me and any hounds I seem to care about We just received new yesterday that a girl we own who was to become a brood momma for us shoulder swelled up. There was no reason for it and the fear started deep in the pit of my stomach. Switzler Glitter was taken to the vet today for x-rays and once again my life and my heart has been stung by the words Osteo. Cancer has reared it's ugly head once again in a hound that I have come to love Glitter was a racer for us at Southland and just retired in Jun of 06, she was just 5 years old and much to young to be lost to cancer. Glitter was a special girl with a sweet quiet way about her. When I visited Southland she was always the first girl I went to visit and love on. She loved her cookies but not in a crazy way. She was always a lady I swear her eyes would light up when she saw us come in knowing that some extra loving was coming her way. She would bow down and wag her tail and just bask in the loving. Glitter was always an angel and now a true angel in the heavens above With much sadness in my heart and more anger toward this horrible word I have come to know much to well, cancer, we said our long distance goodbye's. Though I could not be there for her to hold and let her know it would be ok, her care taker for the last year, was by her side to give her the last loving she would get in her life form. Glitter was much to young and never being able to learn about the retired life on a couch. So farewell my lady and know that my heart hurts BUT know there are special girls up there to watch over you and show you the way and a special boy that is just as much a gentleman as you were a lady.
