I think that Marla looks very happy in all of her pictures. I just wanted to share this...when Angel Queenie came to us...her previous Mommy died. She bonded with us but there was never a doubt in my mind she was Fred's baby girl. I was not her Mommy and it took her a long time to accept me as a Mommy but I knew she loved me. I think because she did not have a previous Daddy...she felt secure with Fred. Do not think for one minute that Marla was unhappy...they just sometimes dream of their past and they don't understand what has happened. I know that Angel Marla is with her previous Mommy yet she watches over and waits for you and her Daddy to join her...when you meet again. My sympathy and prayers. Did she carry a little spark of sadness from her loss, probably, just like you do too but you have nothing to be sorry for at all, it takes a brave soul to adopt the seniors knowing that you will likely have just long enough to love them. It is a wonderful gift to them and the cost of it is a little piece of your heart ever time. silverfish Posted October 19, 2007 Share Posted October 19, 2007 You know, looking at Marla's pictures, I'm wondering if you imagined her to be sad sometimes because of her grey eyebrows. She maybe did miss her previous owner, but she looks happy and relaxed with you, and had people who loved her dearly, and dog companions as well! She had stuffies and good food and the Big Water Dish to play with and drink from .. Sometimes the grey eyebrows make them seem as if their expression is anxious when it isn't. As Renie has developed the arching grey over her lovely dark eyes, DH often says to me, she looks unhappy, what's wrong with her - but all I see is a pretty dog staring adoringly at us the way she always has done. It's just her grey bits that make her look as if she's a little sad. Marla had ten months with you, plenty of time for her to settle in and love you right back, and I know she did. She may well be meeting up with her previous owner on the other side of the rainbow bridge, but I'm betting that when you cross that bridge yourself, she'll be there to meet you too.
