Good-bye Artemis

Artemis crossed the bridge at about 1:30am. She was limping a little when we got home from work. Then, around 9:00 I noticed there were a lot of blood drops in the bedroom. It looked like one of the tumors was bleeding. Around 9:45 she walked into the livingroom and laid on her side and couldn't get back up. She was doing okay and would accept water until 10:30. Then she started crying and panting and was in a lot of pain.

We thought she was going to pass there but by 12:30 she was still here and still crying. We called my parents and my mom came to watch the kids while we drove to the emergency animal clinic. We got her onto a bed and carried her outside. She did pretty well in the car. Dwayne and I were both there when she went and she didn't fight it at all. She seemed so relieved that it was over and she was finally pain free.

We stayed for a few minutes after she passed and then went home. I'm sad, but I'm happy too. She's running free and chasing the bunnies with all the other pups. There are no more fences to contain her and she can eat all the sweet grass she wants to.

We miss you prissy princess girl but we know you're having a great time.

I'm sooo soooo sorry for your loss. We know your baby is out of pain and sitting with all other bridge babies watching us.

I do fill you pain from the loss - what a beautiful girl to have in your memories
