Guest Bodie Posted August 12, 2007 Share Posted August 12, 2007 (edited) I got a call this afternoon from Bodie's surgeon. Bodie has started bruising at his wound site. So the surgeon had a blood test done and Bodie's proteins were down, so he received a pint of plasma. The surgeon assured me this was normal in greyhounds - almost all of them bruise on the third day and Dr. Couto is actually studying it to find out why. So while, the surgeon says this is a slight setback, he's fairly sure Bodie will be able to go home on Monday, as long as he stays seepage-free and doesn't bruise any more. But the good news is that the surgeon also took Bodie out into a large, grassy fenced-in area for a walk without a leash or a sling, and he managed just fine. The surgeon says he is also pain free around the wound site - he doesn't seem to mind it being examined or touched. So, send out those good thoughts to Ohio so Bodie will stay seepage free and his bruising won't get worse. While I know he is receiving the finest of care, I still want him to be able to come home on Monday so we can love and spoil him!
