Good Thoughts For My Old Man - Good Update

Quinn has started to really limp this afternoon on his front left leg. I've examined him thoroughly and can't find a source. I know he may have simply slept in a bad position... or just have an old man's aches and pains... but it's a pretty bad limp and I'm worried. He'll get pain meds with his dinner this evening and tomorrow if necessary. If it isn't better by Monday morning, I'll be on the phone to his vet.

Any good thoughts anyone could send are greatly appreciated. He's 14 now.. and it's so hard to know when something small could be the beginnings of something much more serious.

While I'm sure this is correct, it's also true that the older we/they get, the more we/they feel the little things like sleeping wrong. At least, that's what I find.

I hope it's nothing serious, and that some pain medication and a good sleep have him feeling better by tomorrow. :goodluck

6am update: I noticed last night that the corn on his left front paw was looking more obnoxious than normal. I am hoping hard that this is the cause of the limp. I soaked it, dremelled it (first time I've tried this and he took it like a champ!!) and put his paw cream on it. He is still limping this morning.. but never having dremelled a corn before, I have no idea how quickly this should help. His flare ups usually take a few days of soaking and cream to pass. I'm not sure the corn is causing the limp this time, but I am hopeful. Please keep sending the good thoughts.

Cara-Lea - I'm sorry poor Quinn is limping. Hopefully it IS just that corn - they can be very painful and do cause a severe limp at times. :) And they do get aches and pains as they age. I've had three seniors now, and they've ALL limped from time to time, and so far (touch wood) it's only ever been temporary or old age stuff.

Sending good thoughts and gentle scritches to a grand old gentleman. :hope:goodluck:wub:
