Greylover97
Carolina tested positive for hookworms on July 3rd. She was put on five days of Panacur. Carolina needs to go in for her annual check up this week or next week. When she goes in, should I bring another stool sample for the vet to re-test? Guest Oh_Greyt
I wouldn't recheck (adults need to shed eggs in order to have a positive stool check - since she was just dewormed it probably will be negative). But a lot of vets will give a second dose of dewormer - like Drontal - just to follow through. I always recommend this, unless she is on a heartworm prevention that covers hooks as well (then the hw prev does the job of the second dewormer).
