Medication Question

After Soul's vet visit today, the Dr put him on Cefpodoxime (200mg, 1/day) and Vetropolycin for his eyes. I pulled up some old threads, and these *seem* to be safe for greyhounds, but the threads for them were over a year old. Being a nervous Mom, I just wanted to throw this out there and see if they are still OK. Better safe than sorry

Also, am I really supposed to put this eye ointment RIGHT in his eyes and not the outer corners? Seems like that would be awfully uncomfortable . . . .

Not sure what the Cefpodoxime is, but the Vetropolycin is a good triple antibiotic for eyes, and is very safe. And yes, it should be placed directly onto the eye. The best and safest way is to gently squeeze the tube to get a little strip started then place the strip of ointment onto the eye. Dont touch the tip to the eye, that can be painful and contaminate the tube.
