My Johnny is growing this thing on the top of his head.Sorry it's kinda hard to see but it's hardish and shiny. It seems to have gotten larger. It is strickly on the skin, you can lift it with his skin so it's not attached to any muscle or anythingDo you know what it might be???Sorta looks like a mole.

Sunny had something similar on his neck recently. As it was too small to do a needle biopsy and there was a possibility it could be a Mast Cell tumour, the vet removed it under anaesthetic. It turned out to be a benign histiocytoma fortunately.

Sabine also had something just like this on her side about 6 months ago--vet said it could be a mast cell tumor, but given her age (2), more likely a benign histiocytoma. We had it removed and biopsied, and thankfully, that's all it was.

Worth checking with your vet. "Hardish and shiny" sounds like a little sebaceous cyst or ingrown hair.

omg, Nadia has almost the same thing in the same spot on her head! Hers is covered with fur, but you can see it without touching it. We went to the vet last week to have it looked at and she said it was probably a cyst and that she wasn't worried about it. If it started to grow or look red and angry to bring her back, it was too small to aspirate. It comes up with her skin and feels like a little pebble in there. Probably worth taking him in for a look...hoping Johnny's is nothing as well!

That's my guess, too. My older guy has 2 of them. But, show your vet next time you're in or sooner if it changes.

Always good to have the vet take a peek at least but looks like a dog lump as I call them. My beagle grew a bunch of skins tags and lumps when he got older.

You know I wonder if it isn't an ingrown hair or sabacious cyst.In January Johnny had to have 3 stitches because he cut his head. It's in the same area.I wonder if it has anything to do with it.This has got me wonderin now.Hmmmmm!!
