tbhounds
Did your vet do a cytology or fluid analysis on the aspirated fluid? Could your vet give Rusty Buprenex for the pain/discomfort? If he's pacing he hurts or is in discomfort Poor baby--I hope you BOTH find comfort soon.

nyGreys
Well, I have good news, and I'm hoping it stays good this time. Rusty ate dinner last night, breakfast this morning, and a little more later today & I mean he ate like he really wanted it this time, and he's kept it down, so far!!!! Hie lab tests for lyme disease were negative and his biopsy from his spleen were good... NO Cancer!!! I noticed he paces after we get back from the vets, I think his stomach hurts after the vet gets the fluid out. After about 4 or 5 hrs. he settles down. Poor baby. I think my boy is finally on the mend! He even had a little milk, the first time he's wanted it since his surgery. He's went from 116lbs. down to 89lbs. Is yer hand goin fer dat cookie jar, mom? nyGreys
Glad things are looking up. Does he still have fluid? Yes, the fluid comes right back. The swelling in his legs is almost gone, so I'm hoping the fluid will be gone soon.
