I'm so sorry for your loss. She was lucky to have been so loved even if the time was short.

Thank you, all.

A friend just told me, "Sequoia knew she was the apple of your eye." If that was obvious to my human friends, then I feel certain that Sequoia knew she was deeply loved. That's important for me to know, because she was bounced from a home where the toddler was not nice to her at all. Apparently, from the time the boy could walk, she spent her days hiding behind the toilet. So it helps me to remember that, even with the pain from what was probably bone cancer, she had six months of being a cherished companion before she died.

Patty, I have adopted again: I got Selena three weeks later. The strange thing is that her birthday is just days after Sequoia's Gotcha Day (see separate thread), so the beginning of June will always be bittersweet for me. As will Decembers, since they'll contain Selena's Gotcha Day and the anniversaries of Sequoia's and Dancer's death. There's some cosmic message here that hasn't become clear to me yet....

Thank you all again. Grief is eased, at least a bit, when it can be shared.

(Edited to add Selena's name to my signature. I had trouble accessing GT after the upgrade and didn't realize I hadn't done so. Sorry about the lack of Selena pix; I have no digital camera.) You're official now, Selena!
