Guest GreysAndMoreGreys Posted June 1, 2007 Share Posted June 1, 2007 Me and Kevin went out to lunch today at around 3:30 or so, got back home at around 4:30 and Cassie was laying on the floor with a broken leg Not sure how or when it happened but pretty dang sure it just happened as there was no swelling, bruising or anything. By time we got her to our vet the top thigh area was already swelling pretty good. X-rays were taken at our vet, Cassie broke her Femur on her left leg, and I'm talking totally broke, not a fracture We then headed on over to the specialist in Mandeville, LA and she is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. From the first 2 sets of x-rays from our normal vet the bone looks extremely healthy, no motteled looking areas, no funny shading or grey areas, no spider web type stuff so the bone is looking healthy at this point. Both our normal doc and the specialist all agree the bone is looking very healthy. So if you can please spare some good thoughts for Cassie tomorrow morning that surgery goes well and that cancer is not a factor here. Thanks oh and if you can't tell I'm on auto pilot at the moment, numb really and I know sleep will not come until I hear from the specialist tomorrow that my girl is OK and when she can come home :hope :hope Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We went first to our normal vet here in Gulfport but over in LA we went to The Louisiana Veterinary Referral Center. These are the same folks that saw Weenie and Momma dog when they both were not well. I love their service and well the cost I'm never to fond of but heck I would donate body parts to make my hounds all better Actually the Doc we talked to today was the same one who saw us with Weenie and he was shocked we were back so soon and with Weenie's sister no less thank you all for the thoughts and prayers, it's going to be a long night and longer morning waiting for that phone call.
