They are on their way to Ohio State. Sending lots of prayers....

I haven't seen an update and am sorta scared to ask but has anyone heard any news?

My hopes and prayers are with Alan, he's in the best medical care and with wonderful parents that no matter what Alan will be OK.

The love and prayers surround him.

I'm so sorry and I just read this today so I am sending my good thoughts!!!

I am so happy to hear there are so many specialists and acupuncturists around who can help. Our green iguana fell inside her cage onto her back, leaving her unable to use her back legs or tail. She didn't break any bones so no one knew what to do. We were sent home with instructions to cage rest her. She never recovered the use of her legs and we PTS one year later as she was completely miserable. It was awful feeling like no one COULD do anything since not a lot of research has been done for iguanas. Sorry, it doesn't help to hear this story except that I have faith that you will find a way to heal Alan, but probably very slowly.

:grouphug I just wanted to let you know that even though I've not posted in this thread yet, I've been thinking of you guys and Alan a lot lately. These injuries are so frustrating, but it is good that he is still feeling deep pain. I hope you start to see some improvement soon so that you get that glimmer of hope you need. :grouphug

I'm just seeing this.

My Gretchen had an FCE on May 1 and has improved quickly. I've read that with FCEs there is no pain involved...just paralysis. They say that usually, FCE dogs can't get worse- they only stay the same or get better.

I would highly, highly recommend seeing an animal neurologist if you have one in the area. Gretchen stayed at the neurological clinic for a few days. The techs knew how much to encourage her to move and how much to let her rest. It would have been more than I could handle on my own.

I'm so sorry to read about Alan and am hoping for a quick recovery. I know how hard this must be for you.
