RobinM Posted May 31, 2007 Author Share Posted May 31, 2007 Went to visit Beau tongiht and made the difficult descision not to go in and actually see him. When we got there, they said, if he gets excited, you will have to leave. I thought to myself, excited? I thought he was sedated. They said the sedation was wearing off and he was resting comfortabley until someone came into the room. Because his leg is set until the surgery tomorrow, he will stand and wag his tail when someone comes in. I said to them if I walk in that room, he will go NUTS and then I will have to leave him. That would be cruel to do. So, I left the shirt of mine that I had brought for him and his hedgehog with some kibble. When I called an hour ago, they said he did eat 80% of it. I was surprised to learn that from 11pm to 7am there is NO ONE IN THE HOSPITAL. Even after surgery. I said I was willing to pay for overnight monitoring but I did not want Beau alone after surgery. So, tomorrow is the surgery. I'm scared. My house is so unbelievalby quiet with out him. I miss him terribly and I am counting the minutes until I can see that sweet face. Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart for helping me through this. It's tough. Staring at the computer, doodling all over papers, lost in thoughts about nothing and everything. Can't do anything as it's all out of my hands now. Loss of control, an unsettling feeling, espeically for someone like me. This causes a lot of unresolved personal issues to surface. My love and prayers are with my baby. I have to trust that he will be OK. It is going to be a very long morning.
