My Memories Of You

It's hard to belive it's been 5 years It seems like it was only yesterday.

My memories of you

I remember when you came to live with

us, just a little yellow ball of fur hiding

under the bed scared of everything, and

everybody.

I remember watching you grow from a

ball of fur to a strapping Collie,

Shepard mix with a little Lab thrown in

for fun.

I remember when food was left out

and we had to leave. We would

came back it would still be where we

left it, untouched.

I remember the kisses, and the many

times I got my face washed with that

long pink tongue of yours.

I remember the time that I was stretched

out in the recliner, and you wanting to

give me kisses. You jumped up and put

your paws into my chest.

I remember how you, me, and the

recliner went over backwards. How I

laughed so hard that tears were rolling

down my face and I couldn’t get out of

the chair, and how you played bowed

and spun around in circles barking with

glee.

I also remember the bad times the vet

visits, the pills, the sickness. I know

that we should have taken you to the

Vets and ended your suffering, but we

just couldn’t bring ourselves to do it.

I think that my greatest memory was the

night before you left. You came to me

looked me in the eye, and licked my

hand ever so gently as if to tell me that

you would be leaving soon.

I remember the morning that we found

you stretched out in you favorite spot

and I knew that you had left us and there

would be no more memories of you.
