Runner I still miss you so very much What I wouldn't give for one more touch Of your sweet nose to me to let me know You were ready, come on mom, let's go. You were so young, not even eight, The picture of health, you were so greyt. The day started out with such a bright sun, We went to the M&G you had so much fun, We were standing there, you were leaning on me, I was soaking up the feelings, my heart felt so free, Scritching your ears, knowing you were a God Send, Little did I know that it all would soon end In a moment with no notice, you collapsed at my side, I wanted to go with you, every day since I have cried. The pain is so fresh it still rips at my core To not be able to ever see you here once more. You taught me so much, the gift that you shared, More greyhounds joined me, you got me prepared, For the joy of the hounds, the love of the breed, In that job, my boy, you sure did succeed. Runner, you will always be my first, The pain in my heart makes it want to burst, But I continue to work with homing your friends, That is the work that will never end. Because of you my Runner, my Brindle Bubba Boy, My life is so changed, it's a result of your joy, But know when you left, a part of me did too, You left your pawprint on my heart, that spot belongs only to you. It has been a very difficult day for me, I even got sick and had to come home, spent half the afternoon on the floor with my hounds, the other half on GT. Runner was very special, and yes Cara Lea, he sent me two signs today. (more will be revealed). Heather, we lived in Daytona, and both Runner and SugarBear celebrated their birthdays during bike week, Runner loved his Harley jacket, and it has been passed on to a very special GT hound (if he wakes up enough to wear it.) Again, thank you all, the love shown through your posts has helped me on an extremely emotional, difficult day. I don't think it ever does get any easier.
