heartdogs Posted December 27, 2006 Share Posted December 27, 2006 Merry was the fawn mix from OK & this afternoon I decided she had suffered more than enough. She had a congenital heart problem along with pneumonia and was having such a hard time breathing so when she looked at me with her beautiful eyes & said please, I agreed to let her go. I told her to look for all the grey angels who would show her the way around rainbow land. Poor little girl never had a chance to really see what life could be like with a family, she only had me and the crew here, I hope she knows we loved her. I know that it doesn't seem fair that some never get to know the love and security of a forever home, but for the last days of her life, she did know that love. This is what I tell myself when I'm wishing that I could have had more time with my heart dogs: they truly live in the moment. Whether for a year, a month or a day, they only know what they feel NOW. And she absolutely felt your love and compassion. Bless you for trying everything you could for these precious little girls, and for loving her enough to know it was time to let her go. heartdogs Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share Posted December 28, 2006 Our wonderful vet tried to make me feel better by saying there was nothing I could do for her heart & by letting her go it ended her pain. So I guess it was best for her. This is the hardest part of running a group!
