Guest Cris_M
After being beautifully supported by CoG during the illness and death of my very dear and very young grey, Gabriel, I adopted Duncan (Head Knocker) from Birmingham. Meredith Holderbaum, a member of both groups, recognized that Duncan was a Fishdog and got me in touch with the Fishes and let me know about this group. Isn't that wonderful? I can't believe how much information there is available here! When we got Gabriel, we were in a vacuum. I had never seen a greyhound before, and actually didn't see another one until Gabriel was very ill. I read and read and read about greyhounds, and thankfully things turned out very well. However, I would have loved hearing others' firsthand experiences with Gabriel and I will definitely be listening when it comes to Duncan. Even though I am not a first time greyhound owner, I still have lots of questions. I adore Duncan and want him to have the best possible life. There are things about him that are different from Gabriel so I will need help, and there are things that I want to learn about just to be a better owner. I am really looking forward to being a part of this group. Cris

Guest Cris_M
That will work a LOT better when I get my hubby home and get him to show me how to post them! Can we all say "Computer bozo" together? I do love seeing all the beautiful hounds and I want people to be able to see the wonderful Duncan. Guest gleigh78
I'm so sorry about your loss of Gabriel, and I'm glad that he sent you Duncan. It's true, each one is such an individual and they each have something new to teach us. This site will definitely help you to understand your new hound! Congrats on Duncan! RhodyGreys
Welcome, Cris -- I'm glad I could refer you here to Greytalk, and sorry about the circumstances under which we had to meet. I feel like the best possible matchmaker getting you and Heather to chat about Head Knocker (Duncan)! For reference, here's Duncan, as taken from Greyhound Data: Head Knocker's Greyhound Data Quote Meri & the Dorgwith Little Lee from Eetaly (Raider Retire), Freya FooFoo (Writers Block), Brodie (never raced), and "foster" JJ (Rossmore Judith). Guest Cris_M
Thanks for the warm welcome! Obviously, Meredith must be my guardian angel. How else would someone else be able to post a picture of Duncan for me? However, I will mention that he looks a lot better chilled out on his comfy bed, dressed in a spiffy coat, or just playing. I guess that just means I need to get busy with my camera and computer skills. Thanks again y'all! Cris
