Guest raptorannie Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 i lost my sweet elvis one year ago today. he was my first grey and still holds a very special place in my heart and in my life. while i am still reeling from losing nadine, the focus of my tears today is his sweet memory. we knew we were going to have to help nadine to the bridge, but losing elvis caught us totally off guard. his leaving was one of confusion, hysterial tears (me) and an emergency clinic trip to put him down. no long goodbyes or days to prepare. when nadine left us, my youngest daughter asked me what the rainbow bridge was. after i told her, she started crying and wanted to know if i thought elvis had met nadine at the bridge and walked over it with her or if he was just on the other side waiting for her. she was so afraid that nadine had gotten lost on her way and was scared and alone. i assured her, and feel this with every ounce of my being, that he was with her before she was really gone. he escorted her out of this world and into a better one. he was just that way. he took us to "the better" of everything. elvis, my sweet old man, take care of na-na for me. i love you with all of my heart and take peace in knowing that you are with her.
