Guest greysx3
Today is the anniversary of my brothers passing. He chose his day to leave this earth. As some of you know my brother was an alcoholic and chose to put himself into the path of a passenger train. That was his way of quitting drinking. There is no bitterness in our family of how he chose to leave us. Our family feels that if one person turns from alcohol as we share our story of my brothers passing then his death is not in vain. We know my brother is no longer in pain and is free from the alcohol demon. Shortly after my brothers death my brother came to me in a dream and he told me he was okay. I woke up the next morning and was at peace with his passing. I quit drinking after his death, it was not that I had a problem with it it was because I could say no my brother never had the strength to say no tho he often tried and wanted to say no. But the alcohol demon was much stronger then him. I called my parents to let them know I was thinking about them.

Guest auntiesara
What a heartbreaking story. I'm relieved to know that he came back to tell you he's okay. My Grandmere died of natural causes but came back in the same way. I was frightened at first but then thought she wanted to check on me and show me that she was at peace. When a family member has serious problems like your brother did I know it's hard for the survivors not to say to themselves " if only I had done such and such this would never have happened."We can never understand why our loved ons are taken from us. Your GT friends are here for you. Sara

Guest FullMetalFrank
I am so very sorry, I am also grateful for your sharing of your brother's story. I am a recovering alcoholic and have been at that crossroads. The alcohol demon nearly took me and it is stories like this that remind me why I keep up the fight. Thank you...
