My greyhound passed away

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm  new here. I was looking at some greyhound websites and found this one. It looks like a good one. My greyhound craigie mcduff passed away on Monday. He had a heart attack I think. He fell over and let out a horrible scream. He died within minutes. I am glad I was there to tell him I loved him and comfort him. I have another greyhound Foster. thank goodness I have him. I am feeling sooo bummed. Mcduff was only 71/2 yrs. old. I'm not sure about getting another greyhound, but I'm concerned about how Foster feels not having his best friend around anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  My first Greyhound died suddenly and unexpectly at age 7, so I understand your pain.  It takes time...

Welcome, and hugs to your dear Foster.

I am so sad to hear of McDuff's passing.  Losing an animal is very hard and I understand the pain you are experiencing.  This is a wonderful place and everyone here will do what ever they can to help you in this difficult time.

I am so sorry. I know how much you and Foster must miss him. When you are ready to adopt again, you'll know.

Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Beagle angels Peanut and Charlie. And to all the 4 legged Bridge souls who have touched my heart, thank you. When a greyhound looks into you eyes it seems they touch your very soul.

I still miss my Bounty - he died this past July of Leukemia.  A piece of my heart will always belong to him - I'm sure you feel the same about MacDuff.  I'm thinking of you and am so sorry to hear of your loss.

So very sorry to hear your news about McDuff.  How sad and shocking for him to go so unexpectedly.  I hope your memories of him are sweet, until you meet again.

Greyhounds are very easy to love. All of us are susceptible. I know you miss Craigie enormously. Give yourself a little time and then go find a new friend.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I found Greytalk last August when my 11 yo grey, Joe, was dying. I hope you find it as comforting and supportive as I did. We understand your grief, and offer you our sincere sympathy. Hugs to you and your family (furry and not.)

I am so sorry for the loss of McDuff.  We lost out 1st grey (8 years old) to a very sudden and rare illness last year.  My husband was grieving so badly I decided to look into adopting another...not to replace Ginger, but to make him feel that he still had a purpose in caring for another rescue dog.  I am very glad we did adopt another.  The loss of a pet can be very devistating and you need to find your way through the pain.  You'll know when you are ready for another.  Just remember, adopting another dog doesn't mean you are replacing McDuff.  He will live in your heart and memories forever.  Lots of hugs to you all.  :??

So sorry for your unexpected loss. I know its very hard.

A poem I always like to share (it really helped me when my horse died in my arms)

Weep not for me, For I am where

I've always longed to be;

'Tis I, dear friend,

If tears were here allowed,

Should weep for thee.

My condolences to you also, one of my greys, genny, crossed the bridge at the end of march. It isn't easy, but it gets better with time, but the memories will always stay fresh.

Sorry to hear of your loss of McDuff. To lose a loved one is never easy. He runs free now with the other dogs! Please do give another your heart. Each one is special, and we carry the love from them. We can't replace them as they will wait for us to be with them later in life. I hope you stay here so that we may rejoice with your next greyhound.

So very sorry to hear of McDuff's passing. What a shock to lose him so quickly. He's playing at the Bridge with all the other greys who have gone before him.

We need to act responsibly toward the plants and animals with whom we share the world, who have no voice, but whose presence make our world a blessed place.

So sorry on your loss, it's never easy regardless of age or how long you've been together, it's always to early.
