Hello All! I've been haunting this board as a guest over the months, but am in need of some experience and advice. I am looking to get a dog soon, and after much research on dog breeds I thought a greyhound or whippet would suit me well. I have the opportunity to get either, a two year old whippet that needs a new home or a retired grey. I have not met the whippet but am told he is mellow and his previous owner was 80, so he probably isn't too crazy. I have no idea what grey I would get from the agency, they match up based on profile. I have passed the interviews and home checks. I hav

I just adopted my perfect *little* brindle girl. She is five years old and basically house broken. I've had her just about a month. However, occasionally, she will pee the MOMENT we leave the apartment door, right in the hallway. I tell her no, get her outside, where she often goes number two, but then an hour later she will pee again in the house. These are the only 3 instances where she has peed in the house. Any suggestions on getting her to stop peeing in the hallway? We live on the 3rd floor. She is 98% of the time fine (she has done this about 3 times now,) and makes it outsid

Hello all, We are living in an apartment and our new grey is definitley one who does NOT liker her crate. I have posted in other posts about how to crate her, and we are still having problems with her being very vocal when we leave. Due to living in an apartment it is concerning because we don't want to get in trouble with our landlord or disturb our neighbors. The adoption agency has offered a few different ways to handle this.... they recommended leaving her out of her crate instead. Tried that- doesn't work. She still cries and cries because she is alone. They also recommended exercising
